In Late August
Far off developed roads, deep within the sparse brush of central Iceland the sighting of a rare migratory puffin brings excitement to the island’s small community of birders.
Upon the discovery, avian photographer Berg and his son Olaf begin an adventure through the icelandic countryside following the path of the last of a species. In contention with the country’s growing highway network, the two set out from their home in Hallormsstadur in pursuit of the rare fowl.
Through their distant interactions with the puffin and their own personal confrontations, the father and son duo are faced with challenges that put their morals, minds and familial relationship to the test. Suspending his marital plans in order to help his father chase the dreams of his fleeting youth, Olaf finds himself in a constant state of disconnect with his every day life in this spontaneous hunt for his father’s puffin, but in this separation from his day to day, he finds a closer bond to both his father and himself.
An Operetta Esoteric
Hidden behind feigned walls within the blackened brick corridors of transit tunnels beneath the river Thames, London’s little known Veil Ballroom hosts the most exclusive events for the world of underground classical music. Having met an alluringly enigmatic woman at a local pub, you find yourself with an invitation to meet her in the mysterious venue. Given a time and location to catch a bus to the concert, you hurry to ready yourself for the night.
Upon arriving at the designated place, you worry that she may not have been truthful, seeing as there is no stop or vehicle in sight along the dead end mews where you were told to wait, but as nearby bell tolls out eleven, an empty black routemaster without a marked destination arrives opening its doors to you, revealing a short and sharply dressed man at the wheel. You hesitate before boarding, the driver giving a subtle nod and closing the doors behind you and driving straight toward the solid wall at the end of the road.
Sale e Tabacchi
New York mafioso, Antoni Pugliano, cousin and right hand man to notoriously s brutal mob boss Il Cinghiale, is sent to the family’s ancestral hometown assigned to establish European connections in the old country. Antoni arrives in the small Tuscan village of Piovasco prepared to take whatever steps necessary in order to carry out the Don’s wishes.
Faced quickly with the realization that his understanding of Italian culture has been muddled by the wild Americana of New York life and is surface level at best, Antoni comes to accept that his family stateside places a different value on the bonds of blood than his relations living simple, fulfilling lives in Italy.
Antoni makes the decision to give up his life of crime and the job Il Cinghiale assigned him, trading in his guns and garrotes for a mezzaluna and taking up work with his Tuscan family, exercising his love for cooking by learning the recipes and stories passed down through generations of true Puglianos.
When the Don himself arrives for dinner, he’s welcomed by the familia with open arms, but to Antoni it’s clear that he’s come with only cruel intentions.
Triad Beats
On the floor of the esoteric discotheque Isohaus, clubbing is not a Dionysian pastime but instead an intense contest of will and devotion between the three house DJs and their fans. Perfecting their sets through rigorous practice during their performances throughout each month, the three competitors face off in a final night of head to head rhythmic battles, judged only by the crowd’s response to their music. With his long reign as the contest’s champion, Deputy spins his noir westerns with their drum and bass flair while his rivals, trance-tuned creature of the deep Thulu and noise-mongering tank girl Roseblood seek to claim the high honor at the top of the set.
On the night when Deputy is on track to take his seventh consecutive win, his performance is cut short after a near miss with a well aimed bullet kills one of his dancers. The attempted assassination and resultant murder puts the crowd in a frenzy, but as the ravers try to flee the dance floor they find all exits of the club have been barred. As panic and tension rise in the space, Deputy’s supporters cast suspicion on his adversaries and their fans, but when in the chaos untraceable beats come over the sound system, it becomes clear that a fourth DJ has come out to play.
Red Tiled Rooms
With only the memory of her name, Adelaide awakens in a space flooded with scarlet light. She finds herself alone, surrounded only by vivid red walls and the muddled reflections which the glossy rectangles cast. Electing to follow the only path forward, Adelaide finds that the tiled space is not a singularity, but instead one small room in a vermilion labyrinth constructed of twisting staircases, puzzling trials and countless dead ends.
Believing that the only way out of the mysterious structure is through its winding passages, Adelaide presses on, but as her seemingly endless procession through the red tiled rooms grows from hours into days, she begins to realize worries that she may never escape. In her search for egress from the empty halls and chambers of her vibrant prison, Adelaide eventually encounters traces of her captor’s presence, proving that someone, or perhaps something, has been watching her.
Wasteland Baby
The moment Charlie and Will met there was an instantaneous connection that neither of the young romantics had experienced before, but when a mysterious rift opens above Chicago and the city is illuminated by it’s pink light, their budding love seems to be the only constant in the erupting chaos brought on by the fractured sky. Given the nickname, The Skyline, the rift is treated with an apocalyptic reception with many believing a rapture of biblical proportions is coming for the human race.
Bitterly accepting their assumed fate, Charlie and Will make a promise to each other to keep level heads and live to the end with full hearts and clear eyes, fleeing the rapidly expanding blush of the sky above them.
Lepidoptera
Having grown up in the high circles of Victorian aristocracy, the life of butterfly collector and amateur aeronaut Fabien Crease has been free from the toils of hard work, yet still he longs for more than his lush world of bug catching and air ballooning. His true dream is to soar over the English countryside on wings of his own. Approached by the eccentric entomologist Doctor Hieronymous Bray about taking part in an experimental treatment which would in theory actualize this dream, Fabien accepts without second thought.
After injecting himself with a serum promised by The Doctor to blend his own anatomy with that of his beloved butterflies, the aging aristocrat is disheartened by the lack of immediate results, but to his excitement in the following days he begins to sprout insectile protrusions, including a beautiful pair of minuscule wings. However, as his butterfly features grow, those around him start to notice the effect of the serum taking hold in their own bodies.
Upon the outbreak of this epidemic of metamorphosis, Fabien determines his selfish actions are to blame and devotes his remaining time with his human mind to finding The Doctor and curing the disease before it’s too late.
Dreamland Fandango
While roadtripping through the Nevada desert to see her estranged mother, Dahlia Brookes decides to take a rest for the night at the only stop she’s seen for miles, a small motel across the road from a diner. After checking in, Dahlia walks towards the neon lights to get something to eat, but as soon as she begins her meal, she suffers from a sudden bout of narcoleptic episodes. As she falls between reality and the distorted world of her dreams where nothing, not even her own reflection, is familiar, Dahlia crosses paths with the demon Mephistopheles. He explains to her that this night is his gift, a chance to battle her fears of facing her mother.
Manifesting themselves into figures from her past and experiences beyond her comprehension, Dahlia navigates her way through gentle nightmares in hopes of returning to the waking world for good.
Gnomon
At the age of 5, Claude Villette, the son of a clockmaker living in a small village near Paris, visited the city for the first time. The 1889 World Exhibition had just begun and across France the newest marvel of the country’s capital was the main point of conversation. Upon seeing the tower, Claude became enraptured by the beauty of the colossal iron filigree. With serendipity the boy and his father crossed paths with Eiffel himself, who told young Claude to chase dreams of monumental size.
65 years later, Claude looks back over a successful life of work as a clockmaker. In his decades of practice, he developed the small business his father had left him into an empire of luxury time pieces. When a colleague approaches Claude about the acquisition of a grandfather clock which had once belonged to Gustave Eiffel, he makes the purchase immediately. While servicing the clock, Claude discovers a collection of Eiffel’s plans which showed his tower not as a standalone structure, but instead as the gnomon of a massive sun dial. Remembering the words of his hero, Claude is determined to actualize this monumental dream.
Bodega Nights
Supplying the neighborhood of Tempest Heights with all the necessities of city life, Lucky’s corner store is the place to be when in need of a quick bite, to check in on recent gossip and of course to see Lucky II, shop owner Donovan Mick’s cat and the unanimously accepted mascot of the community. After the sun sets and the street lamps’ electric hums fill the air, the amber glow of the corner store’s sign shines through the night with Lucky II sat inside to welcome any late night wanderers.
When a dispute with a clerk from another nearby bodega results in the kidnapping of the cat, an all out turf war begins, transforming the city into a tribal warzone.
Red Hand Green Thumb
Despite his passionate love for high fashion, it became apparent early on that Kaine Robinson’s true talents were in the field of horticulture. Resigning to work on his personal projects only when time allowed, Kaine set aside his dreams of seeing his designs on the runway and took up work instead at a luxury plant shop near his home in East London. When a shady customer comes in looking for an exotic flower that Kaine has never heard of, his interest is peaked, leading him to the world of the illegal plant trade. Finding inspiration in the forms of the contraband flora, Kaine convinces himself that they may be his ticket into the world of fashion. As his designs gain traction, he soon learns that on the dark flower market getting your hands dirty is inevitable.
Passage of the Beast
Embarking on a hiking trip in the Appalachian Mountains with her father Duke, twelve year old Sarah is excited to spend her summer escaping the chaos and noise of her Philadelphia home. After a week of fresh air and sunny days, an unexpected rainstorm blurs the ink of their trail map, making the road ahead unreadable and indiscernible in the endless woodlands around them. Knowing that the closest ranger station is just a days walk over a nearby ridge, Sarah’s father decides they should expedite their hike by taking a shortcut along an old logging trail. As the wilderness around them thickens, Duke begins to experience horrible psychedelic visions of a monster lurking in the trees surrounding them. In trying to find safety from the nightmares of his own mind, he manages only to lead both Sarah and himself further into darkness.
Showdown at Salton Palms
In the midst of a developmental drought, jobs are few and far between for any landscaper in the California desert, but for the niche field of golfcourse design, a potential commission is harder to come by than ever before. When three firms simultaneously receive requests for design proposals from the anonymous owner of the new Salton Palms Resort Hotel, competitive spirit begins to build both in the office and on the course.
It soon becomes clear that the mysterious patron intends to play the firms against each other, and upon all three accepting entry into the game, the prize grows in value and the stakes are also raised.
Only one can win the chance to design the new course and get the green, but nobody is safe from landing in the rough.
City of Black
When it appeared seemingly overnight, the City of Black couldn’t be explained as anything other than a massive guerrilla artwork created anonymously, and so it quickly became a destination for tourists who use the white architecture as an aesthetic backdrop for their photographs. Visiting the city for the first time, architect Kerrigan Graff believes its true reason for being there may be more sinister. When people begin to disappear, her suspicions are confirmed.

Hidden in the misty hills of Scotland, nestled in a verdant riven between forested walls, lay the town of Havenloch and its namesake, an expansive tract of frigid blue.
Popular in the summer with travelers and fishermen, the town experiences all of the excitement the holidays bring, its wharf and wading beaches packed with the hubbub expected in a coastal town of the same size. As the seasons change, the autumnal colors signal the holidays drawing to a close, leaving only those who call Havenloch home.
This year, when the last of the vacationers leave, something else arrives. As the townspeople attempt to address their unexpected guest, it is their own contradictory beliefs that prove to be the problem.

With its long list of notable alumni and a reputation of excellence, Bouffant’s is the dream of any aspiring stylist, but for those studying at the prestigious university, it seems more like an extreme psychedelic trip. With a rigorous program of courses and a quirky variety of characters on staff, life for the students is never straightforward. For Annabeth Clovely, a new transfer from a much more ordinary route of study, adjusting is proving to be a difficult and exciting transition. As the yearly student style competition draws near, keeping her academic and creative drive up while dealing with all these new pressures does not prove to be an easy task.

Upon his father’s retirement, Samson Sharpe is left in charge of the family carpet business. Everything is running smoothly and profits are up until his grifter brother, Primo, comes back home claiming that he’s turned a new leaf and is ready to return to the family trade. His good fortune proves to be short lasting as across the desert the purple plague begins to spread, staining the landscape in a lavender hue. Seeking to put an end to the perse growth, Frank goes on a quest across the arid country to hunt down the vagabond who sold him the seeds in the first place.
