Urchin
Struggling with the upkeep of his ranch after the recent loss of his son, Francis West seeks any resolve to his financial and emotional burdens. After a mysterious vagrant approaches him in the saloon offering a seemingly miraculous cash crop for only a portion of the profits in return, Frank jumps at the opportunity. When the seeds are sown, it becomes apparent that he got more than he had bargained for. The cactuses grow quickly, filling the acres of Frank’s ranch with needled violet plants and his pockets with weighty gold. His good fortune proves to be short lasting as across the desert the purple plague begins to spread, staining the landscape in a lavender hue. Seeking to put an end to the perse growth, Frank goes on a quest across the arid country to hunt down the vagabond who sold him the seeds in the first place.
