The Martian Days

Upon the discovery of a steady growth in the Sun’s diameter, it becomes apparent that humanity’s remaining time on Earth is limited. Luckily, having already begun preparations for an inhabitation of Mars through the introduction of an artificial atmosphere, there’s a Planet B. The heatwave slowly spreading through the solar system transformed the red planet, releasing the water frozen in its poles and flooding the vast empty seas once again.

Within the new oceans rose monstrous waves produced by the planet’s low gravity. For fear of their power and destructive capabilities, the colonists built their bubble-cities far from the tides. As the decades passed, it became the thrill of the brave and reckless to surf the martian waves. For Marcus Porter, it’s his life.

Directed by Vince Shofer, 2021.
