Lepidoptera

Having grown up in the high circles of Victorian aristocracy, the life of butterfly collector and amateur aeronaut Fabien Crease has been free from the toils of hard work, yet still he longs for more than his lush world of bug catching and air ballooning. His true dream is to soar over the English countryside on wings of his own. Approached by the eccentric entomologist Doctor Hieronymous Bray about taking part in an experimental treatment which would in theory actualize this dream, Fabien accepts without second thought.

After injecting himself with a serum promised by The Doctor to blend his own anatomy with that of his beloved butterflies, the aging aristocrat is disheartened by the lack of immediate results, but to his excitement in the following days he begins to sprout insectile protrusions, including a beautiful pair of minuscule wings. However, as his butterfly features grow, those around him start to notice the effect of the serum taking hold in their own bodies.

Upon the outbreak of this epidemic of metamorphosis, Fabien determines his selfish actions are to blame and devotes his remaining time with his human mind to finding The Doctor and curing the disease before it’s too late.
